Position Summary:
The position of Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the implementation, preparation, working and processing of ultrasound exams to produce high quality studies for interpretation by Radiologists both on and off site. NOTE: The successful applicant may be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, in accordance with the needs of patients and hospital operations.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Ability to exercise good clinical judgement in application of practical and theoretical ultrasound
- Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent organization and multitasking skills
- Evidence of commitment to continuing education to meet professional accreditation guidelines
- Skill transfer and/or peer mentoring
Qualifications:
- Sonography Canada CRGS credentialed member
- Member in good standing with CMRTO
- Graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- 2-5 years imaging experience in a hospital environment and/or equal relevant experience in a private facility with continual membership by Canadian certified and licensed Radiologists
- Demonstrated competency in all aspects of general sonography
- Vascular, Musculoskeletal and Obstetrical experience preferred
- Experience with One Chart and PACS software suites considered a strong asset
- Current Police Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen and immunization status required upon hire.
Immunization Records: Successful candidates must provide evidence of fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work. Any candidate entering the facility to attend an interview will be required to provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status. To be considered fully immunized, individuals need to have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days earlier than the date they arriving to an interview or to begin work at SHHA.
